Natural Gas Services Attends Natural Gas Trade Meeting in Mexico

August 28, 2003

- Meeting Explored Trade Opportunities Between the United States and Mexico -

MIDLAND, Texas, Aug. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Natural Gas Services Group, Inc. (Amex: NGS), a leading provider of equipment and services to the natural gas and oil industry, announces Mr. Wallace Sparkman, Director and President of NGE Leasing, at the request of The Midland Chamber of Commerce, attend a forum and discussion on Natural Gas trade opportunities between the United States and Mexico. Texas Railroad Commissioner Charles Matthews led a 100-member trade delegation to Mexico to focus on the energy sector. The three-day event was August 22-24, 2003.

Mexico's natural gas imports have been expanding rapidly in recent years. From less than 300 million cubic feet a day in 2001, state oil monopoly Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, imported more than 900 million cubic feet a day in June this year. This gas came from Canada and the US, principally from Texas and New Mexico.

In an interview, Commissioner Matthews said, "Texas sees Mexico as an attractive market for selling natural gas in the near term, and in the long run as a key potential supplier."

Wallace Sparkman said, "This was one of the most important and productive forums I have ever attended. We introduced our Company and capabilities to a lot of key decision makers. In the very near future, Pemex will start accepting bids on multiple service contracts from third parties to raise natural gas production in the Burgos basin of northeastern Mexico. We want to be the supplier of choice for our reliable, state-of-the-art, 50 to 500 horsepower rotary screw compressors ... and flare systems."
